I found these beautiful Ecuadorean plantains yesterday at Grocery Outlet for $.79 each, or roughly $1.28 a pound. I was attracted to them because they didn't have any blemishes and they don't seem to have been manhandled. They will go into this bag and sit in a corner of my stovetop until they are ripe.
